The Joseph Cesare Memorial Scholarship

Brothers Helping is proud to announce that it has established

The Joseph Cesare Memorial Scholarship Fund

in the amount of $2,500 to benefit high school seniors who will be continuing their education

in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the fall.

The scholarship will be awarded to students who reside in New York City.

This scholarship was started in the loving memory of Joseph Cesare, who left us in March of 2020.

Mr. Cesare was an Italian immigrant whom resided in New York City for over 50 years.  He is survived by his wife Josephine, three sons, Lorenzo, Vincenzo, and Anthony, and five grandchildren.

Joseph came to the United States in his early 20's to marry his wife and start a new life. Without knowing the English language and with just a few dollars in his pocket he built an amazing life living the American dream.

Joseph started his own business with his wife and successfully owned and operated an Italian gift shop in Glendale, Queens for over 35 years.  He was a successful entrepreneur, and a loving family man.

Joseph was also generous, compassionate, and charitable.  There was never a person in need that Joseph met that he would not help. These were qualities that made Joseph unforgettable to anyone he met.

The world needs more people like Joseph Cesare.

With that in mind, we decided to start the Joseph Cesare Memorial Scholarship so that we can be reminded of the man he was and stood for.  We are looking to award this scholarship to a student that is community service oriented, and aspires to create positivity in a world that is sometime negative.

We are looking forward to reading your applications!

DEADLINE IS APRIL 30, 2025!
